Born and raised in Olympia, Washington, Tab attended USC Film School and has been a working screenwriter since 1983. His major breakthrough occurred with a credit on ‘Gorillas in the Mist’ in 1988, for which he was also nominated for an Academy Award. Tab went on to spend nearly ten years in the Disney machine, writing such feature length animated movies as ‘Hunchback of Notre Dame’; ‘Tarzan’; ‘Atlantis: the Lost Empire’ and ‘Brother Bear’. During that time, he also wrote and directed ‘Last of the Dogmen’, a western fantasy starring Tom Berenger and Barbra Hershey. Tab has written several Warner Bros DC animated screenplays, including ‘Green Arrow’, ‘Batman/Superman: Apocalypse’ and ‘Batman: Year One’, based on the Frank Miller graphic novel. He also wrote six episodes of the ‘Thundercats’ re-boot for Warner Animation along with a thriller, ‘Dark Country’, that was directed by Thomas Jane (Hung; The Punisher), who also starred. The movie was shot in 3-D for a division of Sony. Tab is currently working on numerous TV and film projects, including a digital series for Legendary Pictures, an animated feature currently being made in London at Double Negative, and his dream project about Crazy Horse, the famous Lakota warrior. He is also working on an anime-type series with his partner, called The Haunted Swordsman.
